Beginner & Novice Courses
If you are a brand new paddler, still dry behind the ears, and would like a 2 day lake and river beginner kayak course. We are making special arrangements for you this year. There will be an additional $125 cost to the weekend for you, which is a great deal for 2 days equipment and instruction.
If you have been in the pool this winter and want to head to the river we are offering a 2 day novice kayak clinic at an extra fee of $125. Instructors will do a quick review on the lake before heading over to the river to introduce you to the current.
THESE COURSES HAVE TO BE PRE-REGISTERED so we can arrange to have an Instructor available to teach you.
We have been trying to not see the flood surge coming at us, but its time to jump off the river and get out of the way. With the government's recent decision to restrict all events this summer, the Pinch-o-Crow Creekers is cancelling the 3 Rivers Rendezvous for 2020 on the May long weekend. This will be the first time in 22 years that I won't be hosting my family of whitewater paddlers down here in Pincher Creek. We will miss seeing all of you this spring to kick off Alberta's paddling season. But we look forward to 2021 when we get another shot at hosting our little event for all of you. Stay safe and take care.
Chuck & Sue Lee
22nd Annual, May 21 - 24, 2021
Online registration opens March 20th.
We are opening our registration page but things are on standby right now until we get a better understanding of what will happen with the shutdowns of events and activities. We are optimistically hopeful that we will be able to host all of you again on the May long weekend, but who knows what will be happening in this world by then .... We will not be making a final GO-NO GO decision until May 6th. The campground has been booked and Sue says she can pull all the food and fixings together with one week's notice. For now we are keeping our fingers crossed hoping that things will get better.
Here is the info package for the 3 Rivers Rendezvous. We have opened the Registration so people can register and pay for their weekend. Be assured that if we can't host you this year, we will give you a 100% refund.
The Pinch-o-Crow Creekers Kayak Club is hosting the 22nd annual 3 River Rendezvous on May 15 - 18, 2020 down here in the "Centre of Adventure". We will be organizing and leading trips on the Castle, Crowsnest and Oldman Rivers. There will also be chances to go paddle the Carbondale, Elk, Wigwam, Bull, Highwood, Waterton or Belly Rivers while you are down here. Only three days and too many rivers to paddle.
There will be opportunities for beginner
groups to get on the water and paddle
easier stretches as well as more advanced
trips. We have a great snowpack and with
a little sun we will have LOTS of WATER for
all you big wave fans.
Okay seriously – its always been fun and it
will be fun this year too!
This year we will have demo boats from several manufacturers and equipment will be on site to try and buy.
Camping is going to be the same as in the past. We will be at the Castle River Rodeo Grounds. It is centrally located and easy to find off Highway 507 between Lundbreck/Burmis and Beaver Mines, just 10.7 km south of Highway 3. This site is well sheltered with flush toilets and a camp kitchen and lots of room for everyone – even those softies that bring trailers. https://www.pinchocrowcreekers.com/campground-map
Drive west on Highway 3 past Lundbreck Falls till you come to Highway 507. Turn south and head towards Beaver Mines and Castle Mountain Ski Resort. Drive 10.7 km south, after you cross the Castle River at the top of the hill, turn east to the Castle River Rodeo Grounds. The road swings back down to the river and we are camped right there.
We will again offer a bbq and fixings dinner for Saturday night and the Sunday night we have something special lined up. There will be vege-burgers and a vege-fixings for those who want it. You must let us know in advance so that we can order enough for you.
We are encouraging you to bring
your own plates, cups, steak knifes
and cutlery to reduce our waste.

sponsors and our paddling shops, Prizes
